First Photoshop Draft

Here is my first draft of my college magazine.

I liked the blue curved lines on the right hand side of the page, giving a contempory look to the magazine. The house colour of white and blue is rather bland, therefore I will add another colour to my front page and content page. I was thinking about using the colour purple, enhancing the Wyke ident, therefore it would make more of a connection with the college. I also liked the thumbnails on the right hand side of the page, yet in my final piece, will not have them slightly angled, they will be straight. The masthead of 'Wyke YES!' needs to be infront of the main image and possibly slightly bigger, it would not matter if the masthead slightly overlays the main image as it is the masthead, it needs to be the main heading. I also think i need a bolder font for the masthead, to make it much more noticable. The small heading of 'Autumn Edition' also needs to increase in size, it looks stupid such a small bit of writing on a large page.
